David W. Gill Executive Director & Chief Writer

David studied at UC Berkeley (BA), SF State (MA), and USC (PhD). He served as professor of Christian ethics and workplace/business ethics for forty years at New College Berkeley, North Park University, St. Mary’s College, and Gordon-Conwell Seminary. He is the author of ten books including Workplace Discipleship 101 (2020). David was ordained at Allen Temple Baptist Church, lives in Oakland, and is a member First Covenant Church. dgill@wp313.org

Keith Criss Media Director

Keith studied Drawing & Painting at the California College of Arts & Crafts (CCA) in Oakland. He is Creative Director/Owner of TradigitalWorks. With extensive experience in print and digital communications, Keith has produced award-winning works for clientele world-wide. He has been an instructor of illustration at CCA and the Academy of Art University and volunteers in the CCA Alumni Mentor Engagement Program. Keith lives in Oakland and is a member of First Covenant Church.

Bonnie Johnston Production Assistant

Bonnie has worked in graphics, administration, communications, and fundraising, primarily in higher education non-profits, both Christian and secular, including freelance and employee graphic design for the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco. She has been on staff and in leadership positions with Bible Study Fellowship, Community Bible Study, and First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley. She was part of the administrative leadership at New College Berkeley, the GTU’s Center for Theology & the Natural Sciences, San Francisco Theological Seminary, and International House at UC Berkeley.

Board of Directors

Workplace 313 is governed by a board of directors reviewing and approving WP313 programs, activities, finances, and personnel. Board membership is intended to reflect and represent as much as possible both the churches and workplaces of our communities.

Gina Casey studied at Howard University (BBS), American University (MS Info Systems), Fuller Seminary (MA), and Gordon-Conwell (DMin). She served as manager of IT, capital purchasing, and college recruiting for the Intel Corporation for nine years. Ordained in the AMEZion Church, she has served in senior pastorates in Phoenix, Boston, and Anchorage and is now a chaplain based in her hometown of Richmond CA. 

Susan Cosio is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Fuller Seminary, with additional coursework at North Park Seminary and the Journey Center. Ordained as a pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church she is a hospital chaplain at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. She is also a contemplative retreat leader, spiritual director to those in vocational discernment, frequent presenter and author of numerous articles on faith, spirituality and healthcare. Susan is an adjunct instructor for CSU San Marcos Shiley Institute for Palliative Care, and chairs the Covenant Chaplains’ Association. She is a member of University Covenant in Davis CA.

Tom Cowley studied at Northwestern University (BS, MBA), Golden Gate Seminary (MATS), and United Theological Seminary (DMin). After a long career as VP of American Hospital Supply, Tom left the business world with a desire to teach the Bible to laypersons and has published several books and study guides to that end. Since 2006 he has been Director of the DMin program at Olivet University. Tom lives in Tiburon CA and is a member of Tiburon Baptist Church.

Art Hom studied at UC Berkeley (BA, MA).  He served 19 years as Director of Crisis Services and Assistant Clinical Prof of Psychiatry at Mount Zion Hospital and the UCSF Medical Center and then 20 years as Chief Psychiatric Social Worker for Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services. Art is a lifelong Oaklander, and he attends First Covenant Church.

Alan Kropp studied at Cal Poly Pomona (BS) and UC Berkeley (MS).  Since 1978 he has been President and Principal Engineer at Alan Kropp & Associates, a Berkeley-based firm that provides geohazard and seismic risk evaluation services to clients throughout the western USA. He is also active in a mission to rescue trafficked and vulnerable children in Nepal. Alan is a member of Berkeley Covenant Church.

Michael McNally was Chief Scientist at White Ops, a global leader in bot mitigation and fraud prevention. Michael is an experienced director of engineering with a history of working in the internet industry, including thirteen years at Google and just over two years at Facebook—leading anti-fraud, anti-spam, and anti-abuse efforts. He supported researchers working on fact-checking, and reducing the viral spread of misinformation and messages that promote violence and hate.

Sid Smith III, an ordained preacher and Music Ministry Consultant in Oakland, has served in ministries in California, Tennessee, New York, and Florida, including as Director of Music and Worship at First Covenant, Oakland. Sid promotes excellent and diverse sacred choral music in churches, denominations, and educational institutions—and he plays piano, organ, bass guitar, and tuba. Sid studied music at Middle Tennessee State University and did graduate work at Golden Gate Theological Seminary.

Marda Quon Stothers studied at UCLA (BA) and Stanford University (MS).  She was a civilian division director managing construction programs and “change” for the U.S. military. She provides consulting services in program and project management, asset management, strategic alliances, sustainability and executive coaching. After a reconciliation ministry in Belfast, 2008-2014, Marda served as project manager for Jubilee Farm, a creation care project in Northern Ireland in 2019. She served the San Francisco Presbytery as Executive Partner for Mission and Church Assets, resigning in January 2024. She resides mainly in Berkeley and is an elder and deacon at College Avenue Presbyterian Church, Oakland.

Reventer Traylor grew up in Mobile, Alabama. After earning his BA in History and Political Science at Stillman College, he served 3 years in the US Army in West Germany and became a Specialist 5th Class in Flight Aviation. Following a series of short term employments, he began in 1977 a thirty-year career with the Wrigley Chewing Gum Company as a sales representative, trainer, and manager. At First Presbyterian of Berkeley since 1984, Vent has served on the Session and Deacon Board, taught Sunday school, served on pastoral search committees, worked on Mission Study Reports, and now serves on the Racial Justice Committee and Congregational Care Committee.
